Different Temperature Resistance of Polyester TPU Film and Polyether TPU film




TPU film is a polymer plastic film material with high wear resistance, oil resistance and aging resistance which is made by melting polyurethane thermoplastic elastomer under high temperature and pressure through casting process. TPU film has a wide range of hardness (60HA -85HD), divided into polyester TPU film (ester TPU foil) and polyether TPU film (ether TPU foil). The relative density of polyether TPU film is slightly smaller than polyester TPU film, which with different temperature resistance characteristics.


Polyester TPU film has better heat resistance than polyether TPU film.


Oppositely, Polyether TPU film has better low temperature resistance than polyester TPU film. Polyester TPU film low temperature resistance is around -30°C, while polyether TPU film low temperature resistance is around -60°C.


Different hardness of TPU film, different high temperature resistance. The general high temperature resistance of TPU film is about 100°C. The long term use temperature of ordinary 95A TPU film, which is high hardness, does not excess 80°C, and the instantaneous temperature does not excess 120°C.But for low hardness TPU film, it is prone to be soft and sticky, physical properties damaged.


For temperature-resistant TPU film, the operating temperature can reach 120°C, and the instantaneous temperature is up to 160°C
